Lagoon

Lagoon is a theme park in Layton, Utah. It first opened in 1886 and has since added many new rides, as well as a waterpark. Lagoon is known for it's thrilling roller coasters. It is also home to many of the family friendly classic amusement park rides we see in carnivals today, and a small zoo! On a hot Summer day, visitors can enjoy dual access to the water park and amusement park. Considering booking a campsite on the property to continue the adventure.

Antelope Island

Antelope Island State Park is a beautiful and serene place located in the middle of the Great Salt Lake in Utah. The salinity of the Great Salt Lake is much higher than the ocean, making it easy to float in. The park is open year-round and offers a variety of activities for visitors, including camping, fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, and horseback riding. There are also several historic buildings on the island that can be toured as well as a Visitor Center/Gift Shop. You can reserve water toy rentals and dine at the Island Buffalo Grill during your visit.


The park is home to a variety of animals, including bison, pronghorn antelope, deer, elk, and coyotes. Visitors are encouraged to view these animals from a distance and to not disturb them.


Buffalo Point is the parks most popular hike at just one mile round trip. If you are interested in an educational opportunity, the utah.gov website offers a wealth of information/printable lesson plans tailored to specific locations in the park. Additionally kids can earn a Junior Ranger Badge from this park.


When planning your trip, be aware of two things. Antelope Island has a "biting gnat" season. These tiny flies do not go away with insect repellant. Prepare with mesh coverings and long sleeves or avoid visiting in the Spring from mid April to June. You can check current conditions on the website linked above. Secondly, the summers can get very hot, so plan accordingly.

Boondocks Food & Fun: Kaysville

Boondocks offers a little bit of everything for everyone. They have a number of attractions which include bumper boats, go-karts, laser tag, a play place, bowling, arcade, mini golf, and batting cages. With an onsite restaurant, you can stay and play all day.

Classic Fun Center

Classic Fun Center is a great place for family fun in Layton, Utah. They have an arcade, laser tag, ropes course, skating, a lot of bounce houses, and play gym. You can buy admission by the hour or purchase an all-day pass to enjoy everything the center has to offer. You can bring your own skates/scooters for the rink or rent some.

The Junction

I Fly, Fat Cats, Megaplex, Ogdens Treehouse Museum

Fat Cats is a family fun center in the heart of the junction, it offers bumper cars, bowling, laser tag, and a large arcade. Next door, you can find IFly Ogden, an indoor skydiving experience for all ages. The facility also has a wave rider and rock climbing walls. In the same parking lot, you can pop over to Megaplex to catch a movie on the big screen.

Within walking distance, visitors can also see the Ogden Treehouse museum, a unique and enchanting 3 story children's museum. Families can come and explore, play and learn among many charming exhibits. In a class of children's museums, it's one of a kind.

Cherry Hill

The Cherry Hill waterpark in Kaysville, Utah is a local favorite for its great rides, attractions, and food. It's perfect for a hot summer day spent with family and friends. The park offers three different venues to eat at. If you'd like to make the trip extra special, considering booking a campsite.

There are several pools, a lazy river, and plenty of slides to keep kids amused for hours on end. And if that's not enough, there's also a jungle maze playground, mini-golf course, rock climbing, Battlestar blasters, aeroball, jungle gym, and gemstone mining on site.

Hill Aerospace Museum

Hill Aerospace Museum is home to a variety of aircrafts, artillery, and vehicles used by the United States military throughout the twentieth century. It's an excellent place for anyone interested in history, technology, or the military to learn more about how each of these things has developed over time. The size of the facility is outstanding. It is worth seeing if you are in the area. The museum is open to the public, and admission is free!

The Layton Surf and Swim

The Layton Surf and Swim is a year round swimming and wave pool that offers both public and private swimming lessons for all ages, party packages for all occasions, concessions, and more. There are picnic tables to sit at in the Summer, but little shade. In the winter, the pool is enclosed in a bubble tent. Tubes are available for rent year round.

The Layton Hills Mall

The Layton Hills Mall offers a unique experience to its customers. Besides having a great assortment of the regular shops and food court offerings, it also has a number of fun attractions.

Sea Quest Aquarium gives visitors a chance to touch, feed and interact with with animals from five different continents. Patrons can also pay for one on one interactions with stingrays, sloths, porcupines, kikajao and more.

The Colosseum is a unique amusement center located inside the mall. It offers Laser Tag, Archery Tag, Dart Tag, Hatchet Throwing, VR, and a Gaming Center.

PlayJoy X Ellis Amusement is an arcade that offers a variety of games for people of all ages to enjoy and features reloadable game cards.

Cinemark Theaters is a movie theater that includes luxury loungers with every ticket purchased. The theater also has a small arcade and concessions.

The Eccles Dinosaur Park

The Eccles Dinosaur park is a hidden gem in Ogden. The park offers visitors the opportunity to see and learn about some of the most impressive dinosaurs that ever roamed the Earth. From life-size models to realistic animatronic dinosaurs, there is something for everyone at this family-friendly attraction. The park has three museums on site and also offers a range of fun activities for kids, including fossil hunting, bone digging, and scavenger hunts.

Pineview Reservoir

Pineview Reservoir is a great place to spend a lazy day fishing on a placid lake or haul out the water toys for a little more excitement. Sandy beaches provide kids with endless fun. Anderson Cove Campground is located on the south side if you'd like to make a weekend of it.

The Ogden Nature Center

The Ogden Nature Center is a beautiful place to visit and offers many opportunities for learning about nature. The center has a variety of exhibits, gardens, and trails that are perfect for some casual exploring. The center is a great place to see birds, with 149 different species present. There are also 1.5 miles of easy walking trails and a live bird of prey show. The price of admission ranges from $3-$5.
